THE WOOD AWARDS

A & C won the 'Commercial' section of the 2005 Wood Awards following completion of the acoustic timber wall panelling at the 'Sage' Music Centre, Gateshead. American White Ash lumber (approx 80m3) sourced for the project which was FSC certified. The construction of wall panelling required a system of blocks to achieve the subtle curves of the auditorium walls. These were designed by Arup, with TRADA acting as consultants; but the final design 'buildability' was designed by A & C. Garry Abrahams & Paul Fearnley collected the award at Carpenters Hall on 19th October 2005. See photos within A&C 'Projects'
